Kiki: Hi and welcome to Sits & Giggles. I hope you had a merry Christmas this year - and that you’re looking forward to the New Year. Do you have any fun plans for New Year’s eve?
I wanted to start today with a riddle, and I’ll give you few days to think of the answer, and then I’ll tell you what the answer is on Wednesday. The riddle goes like this:
Sam’s mother has three kids. The three kids’ names are Snap, Crackle and what?
Have a good think, and if you know the answer you can always let me know by emailing me at sitsandgiggles.podcast@gmail.com
So today’s story is about Harry, an ordinary boy who is also a superhero. The story is called Super Harry. So sit back, relax and get ready for Harry’s adventures.
Musical introduction.
Harry wishes he was a superhero with a cape and underwear over his trousers.
He’d be such a scary force of nature that all the bad guys would go “wowzers”
Here comes Harry, be sure to watch out
This little guy has plenty of clout
With the police and all those lawmen in the land
And boasts that he can defeat his enemies with one hand
Tied behind his back.
And so all the criminals and thieves were rightfully quite scared
And kept themselves very prepared
For Harry to swoop down at any time
And stop even their most well-planned crime.
After just 3 months and a day
Harry had scared all the bad guys away.
The mayor gave Harry the key to the city
But when it came down to the nitty-gritty, Harry’s mom said no! No son of hers would be fighting evil
Which caused such great upheaval!
Harry was forced to hang up his cape
There was just no escape
From mom’s final word
No matter how many people found it absurd.
And now Harry is a regular 10-year-old
Although far more bold
Than most of his friends
But don’t worry - this is not how the story ends
Because one day Harry will become an adult
And won’t have to consult
His mother for approval
Or face her very hard reproval.
He can do whatever he pleases
Like making sure a criminal desists and deceases
So never let anyone squash your dreams
No matter how hard that squashing seems.
Kiki: I hope you liked that story - and don’t forget to listen to Sits & Giggles on Wednesday to find out the answer to the riddle!
Until then, thanks for listening everyone. See you on Wednesday. Bye.
